The objective of this project is find economic development through eco-tourism, culinary and historical-cultural-tourism, protecting the environment marine species.

ECOLOGICAL BIRD OBSERVATORY: Today, in tourism, bird watching is a very important activity to exploit. Considering the large number of species, we are programmed one observatory.

GASTRONOMIC

RESTAURANTS WITH SEA VIEW: We want to build restaurants overlooking the sea, which constitute a great attraction for tourists and, in general, for class A, B Lima. This will allow owners to increase their income and further beautify the area.

HISTORICAL- CULTURAL

MIRADOR DEL MAR: Observatory, which will be a major tourist attraction and will allow the realization of artistic and cultural events.

HUARMEY

Huarmey, well known like the "City of the Cordiality" is an option for those who look for a different destination in this hot summer. The province is famous for its beautiful and clean beaches, which have nothing to envy of the best beaches of the country.

Huarmey is a coastal town in the Ancash Region, Peru. It is one of the five district and also the capital of the Province of Huarmey. It is located crossing the Pan-American highway from south to north after leaving the department of Lima in Paramonga and at 82 km from the Fortaleza river. It was created by law 24034 on December 20, 1984.

At certain times of the year, the settlers fish abundant and flavorful shrimps in the Huarmey River. This river fertilizes the valley and flows from south to north.

The port of Huarmey is located at 5 km to the south, through a detour that begins in the Pan-American highway.

From Huarmey to the next important city, Casma, there are 83 km of distance.

This city is not very well developed yet, but it is one of the main cities of the Ancash Region and one of the most impressively attractive too. Huarmey has its own beautiful beaches that do not have anything to envy to the other beaches of the country. It is a very nice place to camp, practice surf or just take a refreshing splash in its beaches. The most important disadvantage is that the water is very cold, in spite of the high temperatures of the city, all the year round.

Huarmey is the site of th Punta Lobos massacre, a 14th century pre-Columbian Chimú human sacrifice and mass burial site.

                                      

Huarmey’s Culinary Delights

A brilliant selection of fresh seafood provide some fantastic meals such as:

• Cebiche: (Dish of marinated raw fish): prepared with a very popular seafod called chanque, lenguas and white shellfish.

                                                 

•    Pepián de Pava: stew made with corn

•  Picante de Cuy: Guinea pig stew cooked on the firewood and decorated with red or yellow pepper.

• Huameyano tamale: mass of stuffed corn with meat, surrounded by leaves of achira”.

• Cebiche de pato: duck macerated in orange juice and lemon.

• Huarmeyana Chicha: It is unique and special made. It is known as the “Vino de la Jora” (Wine the Jora).

BEACHES OF Huarmey

BEACH TOUR

Tuquillo

Tuquillo  is located at km 301 of the “Panamericana Norte” Highway, 20 minutes from the City of Huarmey. Tuquillo is a beautiful beach that looks like a heaven of peace with calm waves and warm sand on you can relax and rest in peace.   

This beach is visited constantly by tourists, especially at New Year and Easter, who come to camp for several days.

 It is a beach  near-tuquillo, is a kind of lagoon, is a special beach for kids and for the whole family.

ARCHAEOLOGY OF HUARMEY

El Castillo

It is located 1 km. east of the city of Huarmey, the archaeological area belonged to the area of the Kingdom of Gran Chimu. This consists of a building complex of rooms made of adobe and mud, or plaster, the buildings were made up to three levels, gradually, some of which have niches, ceiling made from sticks, reeds and mud cake, this important site is going through a very critical given that their architectural structures are constantly being trampled and desecrated by human action.

Mandinga

It is an archaeological complex, with a length of more than 3600 years. It is located 14 km from Huarmey. It is a ceremonial complex, built of 4 platforms. On the first platform there is a circular plaza, while the rest of the platforms are arranged in ascending order, this site is not found pottery.

Lecheral

 Lecheral They are 2 pyramidal mounds in the first terraced mound has 2 platforms and is built with rocks taken from the surrounding hills, which in turn are filled with soil containing bags prepared from plant, called shicras, features site early enough the Aldas  or rough.

FESTIVITIES

 

• Virgin of Rosario (First Sunday of October): The Festival shows the devotion of the people, local food supply. The festival starts one day before the first Sunday in October, is celebrated with processions, fireworks and dancing until dawn.

FESTIVERANO  (13th 20th February)

Is one of the major activities in summer, this festiverano is a whole week dedicated to promote tourism, gastronomy, etc.

the championship of submarine hunting, bodyboard, tow out exhibition, soccer beach are also important during these days.

SPORTS

Sports in Huarmey are getting popular nowadays because more tourist are going to this place to practice ciclism, bodyboard, surf among others and is becoming one importat point where people meet and can develop this kind of sports in such a great place

Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages

- Huarmey have beautiful beaches, do not have anything to envy to the other beaches of the country.
- Huarmey beaches are blue and clear and the sand is white.
- Is a good place for camping, surfing, bodyboard and fishing.
- Huarmey is near to the capital (Lima).
- Huarmey has a good weather all the year.
- Huarmey have important Tourist Attractions (Archaeological places).
- The Typical dishes are made of seafood and are delicious.
- Tuquillo which is one of the beaches in Huarmey won the award of Ecoplayas 2008-2010.
- Nowadays there is a Festiverano that is organized by the local government, to improve tourism in  this place, is one week full of activities such as: contests, gastronomical expositions, etc.

 

Disadvantages

- Huarmey is not very well developed, but it is one of the main cities of Ancash.
- The water of the beach is very cold, although the high temperatures of the city.
- Huarmey needs more touristic restaurants.
- People who live in Huarmey are not aware of tourism as an economical activity yet.
- For some beaches access is limited, you need a 4x4 to get in.
